I had a few concerns about the state of my unit before I moved in but all-in-all, I appreciate the fact that they took care of everything I addressed before move-in and even before I signed the lease. Now that I’m here, so far, so good. Maintenance responds pretty quickly which is a plus. There was an issue with my freezer and maintenance tried to fix it, but it wasn’t a fixable issue so they came with a new fridge the next day which was unexpected, but awesome. The apartments (which are more like townhomes) aren’t the largest, but not bad. You can make the space work but it is lacking certain things like a hall closet for storage and a cabinet in the downstairs bathroom. We’ve implemented space saving techniques so it’s been okay for us. Other than that, the units are pretty nice with modern appliances. I have a unit that has hardwood-looking floors downstairs which is also pretty nice.
One of my favorite things would have to be the location. It’s very close to West Broad Street which there are a lot of places to eat and etc, as well as close to downtown.
My only critique would be the maintenance of the property. Thankfully that’s been addressed within the last week, but other than that, the property hadn’t been landscaped since I first visited in late June/early July. I got a fenced in backyard for my two small dogs to lay out in, but when the grass was too high, they couldn’t go out in it. The community is so much prettier when it’s landscaped and looks clean, so I hope they keep it up.
Loved my experience touring an apartment at Abbington West End. RJ did a phenominal job answering all of my questions and concerns. RJ made the experience feel welcoming, comfortable and homey. I can truly see my family living here and that is all thanks to RJ's kindness and professionalism.
Nice, clean apartments with great amenities, I took a tour last week and honestly they have a guy in the office, Ronny amazing dude, greeted me as soon as I came into the office and seemed ready and willing to handle all of my questions and concerns promptly I wasn't really expecting such customers service right away and I don't usually take the time to leave a review but I just felt like he deserved to get some recognition, 5 stars highly recommend
This property specifically has a slew of problems to which I can't even begin to list all of them. This is a long post but please read if you are considering moving here.
First off, the front leasing office may be kept nice but the apartments themselves always have trash thrown about as well as the streets. Much like their model unit they show, it may look nice and well kept, but your actual apartment will be the complete opposite.
Upon move-in my unit was not cleaned well with stains in the carpet, cracks on the walls, torn vinyl flooring, and many, many more issues. Their idea of maintenance are simply quick fixes to appliances if it were to ever break down. For instance my washer/dryer broke down multiple times which made very loud noises or have blocked ventilation. My stove top had bad wiring which caused a burnt rubber smell along with crackling noises, these issues were never fixed for the 2 years I've lived here. Not to mention they were both fire hazards, and in fact did have a fire burn out one apartment (though I do not know how or was notified). The floors in the bathroom had water damage and the caulk lining in the tub caused mold to grow very quickly. "Preventative maintenance" was useless, because they would literally walk in, look around for 2 seconds and leave.
You will receive one parking spot but if you have more than one car, you will have to fight for parking. It gets so bad to where there are no spots on the street or open free spots, so people resorted to parking in front of tow zones and dumpsters.
The grass will rarely be cut letting it grow half a foot or more from time to time.
Roaches are a big big problem if you have dirty neighbors. You will hear every single bump, footstep, or argument within the thin walls.
My biggest issue was that the office would never acknowledge (or more so trivialized) actual crime that would happen in and "around" the complex. For example in the 2 years I have lived in the complex, there has been 2 murders. One occasion where a swat team swarmed around my back yard, as well as 1 other where the deceased individual crashed into multiple cars and an apartment. However the property would make sure to emphasize that it did not happen on the property but the street right next to it. Either way, this poses a threat to individuals living within the complex.
Finally we have the leasing office. These people will sweet talk you into signing a lease where they will be friendly and appeasing, but once you are ready to move out, they will do a complete turn around. Nothing will get done unless you physically talk to them face to face. No one ever seemed to know what they were doing with a lot of "he said, she said". Even talking to the supervisor got nowhere.
A lot of undeserved fees will be taken upon move out, where they will think of the most obscure issues that were already present prior to move-in and charge you. Moving out was an absolute nightmare. The property is way overpriced for what they are. While going through the ordeal of moving out, they had the audacity to offer lowering the price of rent and a new apartment in order to entice me to stay.
The whole property, including management is a disaster.
Thank you Glenda for helping me through my moving process. Your customer service is outstanding. Your coworkers are amazing as well! I have a place to call home!!!
This property is gorgeous and peaceful. Even though I didn't get approved because of the 3 evictions on my credit. I would still recommend this property to anyone. Ms. Glenda was incredible, friendly, funny, and so positive. She sells the property with her super positive energy. If anyone is looking for an amazing place to live, go check out Ms. Glenda at Abbington West End Apartments!!
This place is awful, crime ridden, and expect a 30% rent increase- they will take you for all you have. ESPECIALLY if you are a felon bc this is one of the only places that accepts felons. They also use software to get rid of bad reviews so …
My family and I are relocating and a friend suggested we check this community out first, so we did! And I'm so glad we did! The staf was so welcoming and Glenda was so friendly and had us laughing the whole time which made us feel so much …
